Small Giants Summit 2018: Authenticity

We’re excited to bring back the Small Giants Summit 2018 to the Garden Theater in Detroit, a classically-staged theater with exposed brick and intimate vibes to enrich your learning experience. The Small Giants Summit is a unique platform for elevated conversation on realities, promises, and practices of companies aspiring to grow with purpose and intention.  Expect two full days of challenges, celebration, learning and relationship building and a third experiential learning day where we visit Small Giants companies in Detroit, called the Day of Mojo (read more below).

Our theme for #SGCSummit2018 is Authenticity. Authenticity  is embedded into the very fabric of what makes the Small Giants Community so special – the people. Purpose-driven leaders who intentionally lead and engage with each other and their team members as their authentic selves. The 2018 Summit will celebrate and deepen our commitment as leaders to showing up authentically – a practice that leads to meaningful conversations, deeper relationships, the sharing of ideas, and ultimately, living out the six qualities of a Small Giant day in and day out.

The #SGCSummit2018 will feature:

  • Fast-paced storytelling designed to get peer perspectives on issues most relevant to you.
  • Interactive workshop sessions.
  • Purposeful, guided networking sessions.
  • Interactive panels of Small Giants bringing you into their stories of growth, change, and impact with a focus on the intersection of philosophy and best practices.
  • Insights from international Small Giants leaders about building a great company while managing different cultures.
  • Group social events that highlight the host city’s unique history, personality, and values.
  • Day of Mojo – immersive, on-site visits to local Small Giants companies, delivering practical examples of purpose-driven business in action.

Day of Mojo! By popular demand, we’re making the Day of Mojo part of the Summit experience for everyone. Like you, we know the value of practical learning and seeing Small Giants companies in action, which is why we’re visiting Small Giants companies in Detroit!

Curious about the Day of Mojo? See attendees past experience.

Laura Boone

Co-Founder & Principal

When my business partner, Ellen Turner, and I founded turnerboone in 2004, we had a shared belief that together, we could change the nature of the commercial furnishings business. That core belief has held strong and continues to carry us through every day as we work to build something purposeful and enduring.

We endow every aspect of our business with quality and extraordinary service. In recognition of what sets us apart, Forbes selected turnerboone as one of the Top 25 Small Companies in America for 2017, a distinction based on employee satisfaction, best practices, and growth potential.

As the only Haworth Best in Class dealer in the entire state of Georgia, we have built a culture at turnerboone where extraordinary results are achievable when we construct partnerships that invest in a common goal. With a supportive environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion, we are dedicated to working together for the long-term benefit of our clients, business, and community.

At turnerboone, that commitment to service extends within our societal roles and responsibilities. As a member of the Oxford Center for Entrepreneurs, I am personally committed to sharing my own experiences and lessons to fuel the success of other professionals who have chosen to pave their own way.

We also reach out in our community to develop solid, meaningful relationships with such organizations as CREW Atlanta, CHOA, The Love and Light Institute, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, where our charitable contributions and active volunteerism help produce a stronger restorative community.
